PurseKeyper is the result of a mom of three girls who is a former teacher, home décor fabricator, over the top birthday cake baker, and craft maker extraordinaire, who was always coming up with inventions. Some of them have been good ideas, but none got the attention of the three daughters like PurseKeyper.
Growing up in a small town of Somerset, Kentucky, the three daughters, Dana, Amy, and Kelly, have a large age difference between them and have found it difficult at times to find things to agree on. The idea of PurseKeyper, a device that combined fashion and convenience doing everyday routines was something they all agreed on from the start.
Sally Robinson
After graduating from the University of Kentucky with a BA degree in elementary education, Sally married Bill Robinson whom she had known since she was four years old! While teaching school and being a mother and a wife, Sally received her MA from Eastern Kentucky University. Raising three daughters has everyday challenges with many ups and downs but one thing they all had in common was their love to shop! With daughters you always have a full purse because you never know what they may need! After having back surgery, watching purse thefts on the nightly news, and one too many grocery trips in the rain, Sally knew she had to find another means to carry a weighted down purse while shopping. Finally, almost two years ago, Sally created PurseKeyper. Sally’s goal was for PurseKeyper to be a family business with all three daughters involved. Sally has always stressed the importance of love and togetherness in her family and this was another way for all of them to share their talents together while having fun doing it!
Dana Robinson Mainka
Dana is the oldest daughter who is married with two small children, a son age 5 and a daughter age 3. Dana graduated from the University of Kentucky with a BBA in Marketing and has some of her best memories being a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. After college, Dana had the opportunity to work for two of Kentucky’s Governors. For one Governor, she served as liaison for constituency services and liaison to the Tourism Cabinet and during the second administration Dana worked for the Tourism Secretary and gained experience in event planning, marketing and advertising. Dana enjoyed a brief move to Los Angeles as Woody Harrelson’s personal assistant followed by a move to New York City where she enjoyed working for years in Special Events at Macy’s Herald Square. As a Special Events Manager for in-store promotions, Dana assisted many famous designers and multiple vendors to launch a wide variety of new products by partnering with national magazines, Broadway shows, celebrity personal appearances, musicians / artists and organized seasonal fashion shows. After meeting her husband Jeffrey on a blind date in NYC, Dana decided to give up her career and work on a family. Dana and Jeffrey moved to Louisville, Kentucky right after 9/11/01 and are happy raising their children away from the hustle and bustle of NYC. In Louisville, Dana has been involved in many philanthropic causes, particularly The Speed Art Museum. Dana is regularly frequenting NYC again with her new role in PurseKeyper and happy to have the best of all worlds at the moment launching her own product.
Amy Robinson
Amy is the middle daughter but never seemed to manage going unnoticed. A member of the KHSAA Women’s State golf championship team, Amy was a born leader. She graduated with honors from the University of Kentucky with a degree in Accounting. Amy was an active member of the Delta Delta Delta Social Sorority, as well the Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Fraternity. Amy successfully obtained a pharmaceutical sales position post graduation, leading her to relocate far away from her family to sunny Jacksonville, Florida. It wasn’t long, however, before Amy realized no beach was better than home! Following the steps of her older sister, Amy migrated to Louisville, Kentucky and was soon followed by her younger sister. Amy has had much success with three Fortune 500 companies and continues to utilize her passion for selling along with her love for helping others. Amy is the proud mother of two lhaso apsos, Will and Bailey. It is Amy’s aspiration for PurseKeyper to further enhance her personal success, maintain and strengthen her relationship with mother and sisters, and finally free up the front basket for little Will and Bailey, and other dogs everywhere!
Kelly Robinson
Growing up in the small town of Somerset, Kentucky, Kelly always had big dreams and goals. As a four year All-State Golf Team member, as well as a contributing leader towards a Class A State Basketball Championship, Kelly knew there would be more success awaiting her. Kelly attended the College of Charleston on a golf scholarship and quickly migrated back to her roots and reunited with her sisters in Louisville, Kentucky. Kelly was fortunate enough to obtain a pharmaceutical sales position immediately after completing her undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Louisville. Shortly before Kelly’s pharmaceutical company declared their decision to downsize, Kelly began to work part-time at a local Bikram yoga studio. Pursuing a passion Kelly had grown very fond of over the years, hot yoga was a perfect place for Kelly to spend her free time while also making money during these difficult economic times. Now, thanks to her mother, Kelly has found a new challenge and opportunity for success. PurseKeyper has allowed Kelly to explore her creative “right brained” talents, as well as enhancing her relationships with her mother and sisters.
